The EPA’s Managing Wet Weather with Green Infrastructure program is focused on utilizing green infrastructure technologies and strategies to manage wet weather, such as municipal stormwater and combined sewer overflows. A collaboration involving ASIWPCA, NRDC, NACWA, American Rivers, and the Low Impact Development Center produced a multifaceted action plan in 2008

The aim of these initiatives is to make green infrastructure the standard technique in municipal management programs, with a variety of environmental benefits.
