Biography & Tour

Itzhak Perlman, born in 1945, is an American violinist who has had an illustrious career playing with some of the world’s most prestigious orchestras. He made his debut at Carnegie Hall in 1963 and continued to play there throughout his career.
Itzhak Perlman was born in Tel Aviv, Israel to Polish parents who were both very musical. His father played the violin in the Warsaw Symphony Orchestra and his mother taught piano lessons. Itzhak began playing when he was only three years old and made his public debut on Israeli television at five years old.
Perlman arrived in the United States from another country in 1958 to attend Juilliard School. He became an American citizen later on. Perlman has been married to Toby Perlman since 1964 and they have three children: Noah, Avi, and Emma.
Over the course of his career, Perlman has received many honors and awards. In 1986, he won the Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Soloist Performance (with Orchestra) for his recording of the Brahms Violin Concerto. In 2015, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama.
Itzhak Perlman is an esteemed violinist who has played with some of the world’s most well-renowned orchestras and conductors. He has also won many awards for his performances. Aside from being a noted performer, Perlman is also a teacher at renowned establishments such as Juilliard School and Curtis Institute of Music.
