Now is the moment for us to take advantage of a new Congress and administration and capitalize on the momentum. It is critical that members of Congress understand the consequences of policy choices on older industrial cities’ attempts to re-establish their economies and promote more sustainable development

The Northeast-Midwest Institute, Brookings Institution, Smart Growth America, and Policy Link are planning the first annual Revitalizing Older Cities Capitol Hill Summit as part of a multi-year effort to revitalize older cities. The summit is sponsored by the Northeast-Midwest Congressional and Senate Coalitions, as well as the Revitalizing Older Communities Congressional
