Call for Proposals: Paul S Sarbanes Transit in Parks

The goal of the initiative is to increase public safety and visitor experience in national parks and federal lands by ensuring that they are better protected. The program finances the construction and planning costs of alternative transport systems such as buses and trams in government-controlled parks and public lands.

Any person or organization with a valid DOI permit is eligible to apply. The Department of the Interior, after consultation with and in coordination with the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), will select and fund projects. Proposals must be submitted by 12:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time on February 27, 2009.
