The 46th IFLA WORLD CONGRESS, to be held in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) from October 21 – 23, 2009, is co-organized by the Brazilian Association of Landscape Architects (ABAP) and the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA), with support from UNESCO.

GOALS

  • Fomenting the gathering of professionals from the private and public sectors, education and research fields, as well as popularizing landscape architecture throughout the world with the objective of strengthening Brazil’s design and planning field;
  • To enable landscape architecture professionals from across the world to collaborate;
  • To create a business atmosphere by hosting a parallel exhibition to exhibit goods, services, and innovative technologies..

THEME AND PROGRAM

The 46th IFLA WORLD CONGRESS and the 2nd ABAP INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS – entitled “Green infrastructure: High-performance Landscapes” – will focus on production processes’ sustainability and debate and information exchange around space and city plans. These designs are influenced by environmental preservation and social-economic.
